Coached by David Quinn - seasoned athlete and coach, with many racing accomplishments
Let me welcome you to TVC True Victory Coaching. David has coached for many years, and a vast majority of learning has been through personal race and training experience. David has, and wears many hats from instructing martial arts, coaching football, cross country and track, to multi-sport event athletes, from beginner to experienced. David still competes today, and has had some success in his racing. He trains with, and coaches his athletes to the finish line. He started out as a runner, and soon after he found his passion for triathlon. And seeing just how far he could push himself.
David does lead by example. Setting a long-term goal back in 2007, David longed for Kona, and in 2022 he accomplished the goal of racing Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii. “True Victory Over Oneself” has always been David’s moto. From pacing an athlete at a race, to showing up, coaching, and cheering on the athlete is all part of the way he coaches. It’s not just about putting training plans out to the athletes. He coaches the INDIVIDUAL athlete way. Everyone is different and has a busy life’s schedule. David will eliminate the worry of your stressors. He will create a plan that is specific for your needs, wants, and desires. Life is all balance and David can assist in making your balance easier.

TVC has been instrumental in my athletic development, pushing me both mentally and physically to become a stronger athlete. Through TVC’s guidance, I have achieved numerous personal records and fulfilled a lifelong aspiration of competing in the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. TVC’s coaching has also instilled in me the confidence to stretch my limits and continually pursue ambitious goals and challenges.
Working with David has re-ignited my interest in distance running. After years of marathon running and following self-created training plans, I was losing motivation which led to sub-par workouts and slower times. David provides accountability for staying on track and blends a wide variety of workouts (running, strength & stretching) that keeps it enjoyable in lieu of the same boring runs over and over again.
Can’t say enough about David and TVC. I started really running around September 2021, met David around October 2021, and with his help, completed my first Ironman in November 2022. I consider David not only to be a mentor, but a friend as well. He works with you to meet your goals through thick and thin, and is always there to provide an encouraging word. David even traveled from his home in Illinois to Florida for my first Ironman to be there with me and my family as I crossed the finish line. If you want to meet your goals, no matter how big, TVC and David is who you need to call.
When I ran my first marathon in 2000, I ran a 4:52. I improved over the years and in 2012 I realized I may actually be able to qualify for Boston. I came within a minute a couple of times. After many attempts, I decided it was time to hire a coach. Enter David Quinn. I hired him in June 2014. He was patient and encouraging. I finally reached my goal in September, 2014, running a 3:31! I qualified with 14 minutes to spare. Since that time, he’s coached me to many PR’s, as well as the completion on 5 Ironman events.
